Inspiration

We are all college students and we might come to a point where we don't know what classes we want to take. Therefore, we made this tool to make the decision easier.

What it does

You submit your resume, and the AI will predict your major and recommend courses based off that prediction.

How we built it

We combined a basic HTML webpage with Gemini AI using Python, which was done using Flask.

Challenges we ran into

It took us a while to understand how Flask worked and how to utilize it.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Learning how to connect frontend and backend for the first time.

Figuring out how the backend and frontend of a project combine to make it work

What's next for RU Prepped

Improving UI, tool that uses the suggested classes to make a mock schedule so that the user knows what their next semester might look like.

I worked on the project planning, debugging, the first version of the data scraping tool, and made a cloud proxy system to hold private data that didn’t end up making it to the final version when we pivoted from PyScript to Flask. It was the first time I worked with any of these tools so I learned a lot even if most of my code didn’t make it to the final version.

Brody Murray
I worked on the UI and helped test and incorporate the backend Flask components into the project.

Gilad Tal
I worked on implementing Flask into the project and connecting the separate scripts together into one app.
