🌍 RRR (Reduce – Reuse – Recycle)
Inspiration
The rapid rise in climate change and poor waste management inspired us to build RRR. We saw communities struggling with landfills, reusable items being thrown away, and a lack of accessible recycling options. RRR was created to turn small eco-conscious actions into a powerful, community-driven sustainability movement.
What It Does
RRR empowers users through three pillars: Reduce – AI-powered climate news, daily green tips, carbon calculators, weekly challenges, and badge rewards. Reuse – A community marketplace for sharing reusable items with calling, WhatsApp, and location features. Recycle – Connects users to verified EcoRecycler partners for 20+ materials with pickup requests and NGO-led food-sharing to cut food waste.
How We Built It
Built with React + TypeScript and Tailwind CSS for a modern UI. Integrated Gemini AI for climate insights and personalization. Added direct image uploads, auto-filled forms, one-click communication, and a full gamification system. Designed multi-user dashboards for General Users, NGOs, and EcoRecycler Partners.
Challenges We Faced
AI prompt tuning, rate-limit handling, creating a simple yet feature-rich UX, robust image uploading, multi-user system design, and managing real-time activity data.
