Inspiration
In our research we found that some people with Hyperkinetic disorder can have a hard time planning and executing on plans, we wanted to develop an application that could possibly assist in this process.
What it does
The App gamifies planning and to-do list completion by using classic DnD RPG elements in the forms of Character stats (Strength, Intelligence, Endurance, Spirit) and Quests.
How we built it
We used the Kivy framework for Python to build the multipage application.
Challenges we ran into
Building a functioning calendar system is in itself challenging, this proved to be harder than first anticipated. Both participants are usually back-end oriented, and designing the application to be visually appealing was challenging.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We build an application we think could work as a test-application for testing the idea, and we did it in less tha 48 hours. Since this is our first hackathon, we are mostly just amazed at how much we have build in such short time.
What we learned
We had not worked in Kivy prior to the hackathon we learned alot about using it and planning out the visuals before building them.
What's next for RPG Calendar
Testing and hopefully getting some positive feedback which can be used to iteratively improve the application.
