Inspiration
As university students, we’ve all had the frustrating experience of being part of group projects where certain members leave all the work to others. As an all-female group, we've also heard comments like "girls are smarter than boys," but the truth is, women can be guilty of the same behavior. This is not an excuse for anyone to take advantage of their teammates and contribute nothing but inconsistency and excuses.
What It Does
IntelliHackWAEYS is an accountability app designed to help teachers and students manage projects and tasks effectively. Teachers can create classes, assign tasks, and monitor student progress, while students can collaborate on projects, manage tasks, and track due dates. The app offers personalized dashboards for both teachers and students, making project management more seamless.
How We Built It
We built the app using a combination of PostgreSQL, React, Supabase, AWS, JavaScript, and CSS to create an efficient and user-friendly platform.
Challenges We Ran Into
- Spotty Wi-Fi connections
- Power outages
- Waiting for packages to install (which felt like forever!)
Accomplishments We're Proud Of
- Mastering React in just one day
- Improving communication within the team
- Successfully deploying on AWS
- Completing a 24-hour project commitment
What We Learned
We learned a lot throughout the process, from technical skills to effective teamwork and time management.
What's Next for 5-WAEYS?
Looking ahead, we aim to fully implement and refine the app, applying our newfound knowledge in AI and machine learning. Our goal is to make 5-WAEYS the future of project management, bringing even more innovative features and improvements.
