Inspiration
With criminals targeting college students as of late, it has made it increasingly difficult for people to feel safe on even the most secure campuses—gun/knifepoint robberies happening in broad daylight being a main concern.
What it does
This app gives the community the power to stay informed, report threats, and allo the authorities to predict and respond swiftly to both criminal activity and disasters that could cause the loss of a person’s life to help create a safer environment for everyone.
How we built it
Python, Postgres, Amazon rds, vue, css, openai o4
Challenges we ran into
Having the android app work, having to change the language halfway through from spring boot to java.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Even though we had our doubts about our idea and were on the verge of changing it, we decided to stick to our guns and persevere to get through and make a unique and eye catching enough idea to stand out.
What we learned
We learnt to keep going, even when the errors and issues kept piling and piling up.
What's next for Row 7 Group 42— DangerZone
To watch as our app—win or lose, takes over Jamaica and helps everyone become safer one report at a time.
