Inspiration
The inspiration came from visiting a doctor office with my wife and we had to turn back because the type of medical I needed to do could not be walk-in. We came back next week after setting the appointment for 2pm which we arrived 15mins early but still had to wait until 3:30pm to see the doctor.
What it does
This allows patients to book appointments in advance via a website and they will be able to see a real time queue of appointments per day that is periodically refreshed.
How we built it
We built it using spring boot for the backend react for the frontend. AWS and Fly.io for deployments Spring Boot Web socket PostgreSql Docker Azure Key Vaults
Challenges we ran into
Deployment issues with AWS, ultimately we had to use Fly.io as a last resort for deployments Could not push all commits due to internet network connectivity Code folder structure caused some unusual errors and app startup failure
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to build a working solution(MVP) Little to no merge conflicts during collaboration Deployment scripts for fly went well We handle secrets using azure key vaults securely Covered the core features of our project idea
What we learned
What's next for Row 2 - Prime Life
Built With
- amazon-web-services
- react
- springboot
