I wanted to have something to help me follow a routine in the morning.
What it does
Allows user to create and manage routines, and then go through them, eventually giving results of how well the user followed their routine.
How I built it
Designed as a standard, lightweight iOS application with Swift.
Challenges I ran into
This was basically my first application I had ever created, so just learning how the whole process works and getting around the iOS frameworks and tools was probably the most challenging thing.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I built my first app! I have never really built any functional, user friendly programs, and although Routine Manager is fairly limited, it was a great learning experience and something that I am very proud of.
What I learned
Making iOS apps is really quite fun, and is a great outlet for future projects. Besides that, I am now much more comfortable with how building applications works with Xcode and Swift.
What's next for Routine Manager
I will definitely try to implement saving of states and data (I decided to forgo it for this weekend just to focus on getting the main functionality down). Besides that, I may try to put in support for push notifications and allow the app to run in the background (two things that would make the app much, much more useable).
