Inspiration

Existing tools focus on tracking productivity, not understanding mental overload. This gap inspired us to build Routine Decoder, a project that helps people decode daily confusion into clarity.

What it does

Routine Decoder is a daily-life thinking companion powered by Gemini AI. Users describe their day, habits, or problems in natural language, and the system transforms that input into clear, prioritized routines and actionable steps. The goal is not to optimize time, but to reduce mental stress and help users move forward with confidence.

How we built it

We used the Gemini API to understand user input and generate structured, context-aware responses. A minimal frontend ensures a distraction-free experience, while the backend handles prompt design and response formatting. Every design choice focused on simplicity, clarity, and real-world usability.

Challenges we ran into

Daily-life problems are often vague and emotional. Getting consistent, structured outputs without sounding generic was challenging. We refined prompts and response logic to ensure Gemini provided practical guidance while maintaining a human, supportive tone.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We built a fully functional application that converts unstructured thoughts into meaningful routines. The app requires no learning curve and demonstrates how AI can genuinely reduce mental overload in everyday life.

What we learned

We learned that effective AI solutions depend more on understanding human problems than adding features. Prompt engineering and user experience play a crucial role in delivering clarity. Gemini’s language understanding proved ideal for this use case.

What's next for ROUTINE DECODER
