Inspiration 🌟
The inspiration behind Route-Sync stemmed from the growing need for a more sustainable and efficient way to organize transportation for groups of people traveling to the same destination. We recognized the environmental benefits of carpooling and ridesharing, as well as the potential to reduce traffic congestion and lower individual transportation costs. This inspiration drove us to develop, Route-Sync a web application that could seamlessly connect individuals with similar travel plans, promoting the shared use of vehicles and reducing the overall carbon footprint of travel.
What it does 💡
Route-Sync is a web app for all platforms that connects people traveling to the same place at the same time. Users can be drivers or passengers, with drivers choosing who to pick up, and passengers selecting their preferred ride. It optimizes transportation, reduces costs, and promotes a sense of community, making ridesharing efficient and eco-friendly.
How we built it 🔨
Route-Sync was developed using a tech stack that includes React.js for the frontend, JavaScript for scripting, Chakra UI and Tailwind for user interface design, and integrated Google Maps through Google Cloud services which is a significant strength of our app. It not only enhances the app's core functionality but also provides users with a reliable and feature-rich navigation experience, contributing to the overall success and usability of the platform.

One of the standout features and best uses of Google Cloud within our project is the integration of Google Maps. Here's how we leveraged Google Cloud services for embedding Google Maps and why it's a notable use:
Seamless Navigation Integration: By embedding Google Maps, our app provides users with a seamless and reliable navigation experience. Users can easily view their route, real-time traffic updates, and estimated arrival times, all powered by Google's extensive mapping and location data.

Users can pinpoint their current location, making it easier to join pools or select rides with confidence. This accuracy is crucial for both drivers and passengers when coordinating pickups and drop-offs.
