Inspiration

I am a student in Oklahoma City, and I don’t have a car. It is hard for me to go to school, work, or the store because the buses are often late or don’t come to my area. That made me want to learn about the problem using real data.

What it does

This project shows how hard it is to travel by bus in Oklahoma City. I looked at one trip from my home to OKC Outlet. It took 1 hour and 51 minutes, two buses, and a lot of walking and waiting.

How we built it

I used the EMBARK Trip Planner to get the trip information. I wrote it down in Google Sheets. I made a table and a chart to show the time, steps, and walking distance.

Challenges we ran into

It was hard to find the right bus stops and understand the trip planner. I also had to learn how to organize the data in a clear way.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud that I finished my first project. I used real trip data, made a chart, and shared a real problem I face every day.

What we learned

I learned how to use data to look at a real problem. I also learned how to use Google Sheets to explain my findings in a simple way.

What's next for RouteReveal

Next, I want to add more trips to different places and learn how to make better charts and maps to show the issues more clearly.
