Inspiration
There have been many times where I have forgotten to do a task while I am on my way to my destination. For example, back in high school I often forget to checkout textbooks before class. Thus, I have decided to create an application that will remind users to complete their tasks as they are on their way towards their destination.
What it does
The application will plan out the users day by accepting the users acitivites alongside their location & time. Following this, the application will construct a route that allows the user to accomplish all activities as efficiently as possible. The user will be able to modify the path to better suit their needs as well.
How we built it
I will build this application using Android Studio, Java, and XML. I will incorporate google maps API as well.
Challenges we ran into
During the first day, due to virtual hackathon, it was very difficult to collaborate. In fact, my team bailed out, and I had to complete this project all on my own with only 20 hours remaining.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Even though I had little experience with Android Application development, I was able to create a functioning application.
What we learned
To not rely on others and to expect the worst.
What's next for RouteReminder
I will grow this application into an all-in-one To-Do list planner which incorporates a calendar as well.
