Inspiration
Many support schools and language centers still manage students, teachers, guardians, payments, attendance, schedules, and communication through scattered notebooks, spreadsheets, and messaging apps. This creates duplicated work, weak follow-up, financial confusion, and difficulty coordinating multiple teachers, groups, branches, and guardians.
roufaidaschool was created to turn that daily complexity into one clear, multilingual, role-based management system.
What it does
roufaidaschool is a complete school management platform for support courses and language schools. It manages students, teachers, guardians, administrators, groups, rooms, schedules, attendance, payments, payroll, ID cards, certificates, reports, communication, branches, and secure demo access.
Each user sees only what they are allowed to see. Administrators can manage the whole institution, teachers see their own groups and students, guardians see only their children, and the demo mode lets judges test the system without touching real data.
How I built it
I built the project with Codex as a development partner throughout the process. Codex helped design the system architecture, improve the interface, connect permissions across modules, generate update packages, build multilingual support, refine the secure demo mode, and prepare the Android companion direction.
The system is deployed on Hostinger and works as a browser-based ERP with a secure update workflow. It includes Arabic, English, and French interfaces, a protected demo route, data-preserving updates, role-based access control, and a foundation for Android app integration.
Challenges I ran into
The biggest challenge was making the system feel like a real ERP instead of a collection of screens. Every button, icon, permission, and workflow had to be connected to real behavior.
Another challenge was protecting real school data while still giving judges a complete demo. I solved this by creating an isolated demo mode with temporary data, restricted sensitive modules, multilingual support, and a clean public demo link.
Accomplishments that I am proud of
I am proud that roufaidaschool became more than a basic school website. It now behaves like a real operational platform: students can belong to multiple groups, payments are linked to groups, attendance is tied to sessions, teachers and guardians have scoped access, ID cards can include QR and barcode information, and administrators can manage updates from inside the system.
I am also proud of the multilingual interface and the secure demo environment, because they make the project easier to evaluate internationally without exposing private data.
What I learned
I learned how important product thinking is when building management software. A school ERP is not only about storing data; it is about connecting people, permissions, actions, reports, and real daily workflows.
I also learned how Codex can accelerate development when used as a technical partner for architecture, debugging, UI refinement, workflow design, and iterative feature building.
What's next
Next, I want to strengthen the Android application, add deeper GPT-powered assistance for reports and communication, improve real-time synchronization, expand teacher payroll and student follow-up analytics, and prepare roufaidaschool as a reusable platform for other support schools and language centers.
