Inspiration

As former high school athletes we know the real killer of championship seasons is injuries. Thanks to the data provided by MinneHack we were able to build an algorithm that predicts when certain athletes are at elevated risk of injury. This tool is specialized for male football players, but can be adapted to a wide variety of sports.

What it does

This tool takes in a roster with height, weight, time in the season, and position data and processes it to give live updates as to which players are at an increased injury risk that week.

How we built it

We combined advanced data processing tools like pandas and a python based web development tool to create an agile and effective toolkit for coaches looking to reduce injuries

Challenges we ran into

Lots, I'll be honest. This is like plan E and half our team bailed. We decided that we wanted to turn in something and preferably something that's actually going to be useful for athletes and coaches.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

In our first hackathon we put together something that worked and something that we could present.... that's about it

What we learned

Time sleep cycles better Scope definition is very important Dream small

What's next for Roster Checkup

I don't know, why don't you tell me.
