What it does

Roshii turns a vague goal into daily action. You tell it what you're working toward, it breaks the goal into small tasks with real due dates, and checking them off builds your streak.

Roshii, the AI mentor, remembers you. Every conversation is saved as a daily summary, so the next chat picks up where the last one ended, and the Report tab shows patterns in how you actually work, not just raw counts.

It's built to be kind rather than pushy. A crisis layer watches for signs that someone is really struggling and answers with support and real helplines instead of productivity coaching.

When a task is due within the hour, Roshii himself walks onto your dashboard and keeps you company: he rings his bell at 20 minutes, sits down beside you at 5, and if the deadline passes he just shrugs and walks off. No guilt.

Core features

  • Goals broken into small, dated tasks by AI
  • A daily streak and a weekly view of your progress
  • A Report tab showing how you actually work
  • Roshii, an AI mentor with memory across conversations
  • A crisis layer that answers distress with support and helplines, never coaching
  • A deadline companion: Roshii appears when a task is under an hour away
  • Golden unlock: a one-time in-app purchase ($0.99) that dresses Roshii in a gold robe for good

How we built it

Flask and Postgres on the back end, Claude (Anthropic) powering the mentor and task planning, shipped to iOS as a Capacitor app, and RevenueCat handling the purchase from the App Store sheet through to verifying it on our server.

Monetization

One $0.99 lifetime purchase, not a subscription. An accountability app that locks your goals or your mentor behind a paywall works against the people it's meant to help, so everything useful stays free and the Golden unlock is a cosmetic way to support the app. It lives in Settings, framed as support: no pop-ups, no nagging.

Challenges we ran into

  • Getting through App Review for the first time. The first submission came back with a routine "Information Needed" request, and we learned that a first in-app purchase has to go into the same submission as the app version, so we resubmitted both together with a full walkthrough recording.
  • Wiring the purchase end to end: the App Store sheet, RevenueCat's entitlement, and our own server all have to agree before the robe changes colour.
  • Making an AI mentor safe to talk to on a bad day, which is why the crisis layer errs on the side of offering support if its own check fails.
