Inspiration

  • A women's menstrual cycle is a much bigger issue than discussed because majority women don't know how to handle their body and mental health in a beneficial and healthy way. Due to this reason, we believed a simple website that is personalized to fit everyone women would be a nice stepping stone on this journey.

What it does

  • It's basically a website in which you log in with your credentials and then take a super short quiz to calculate what phase of your cycle you are currently in. After you submit the quiz, you will be guided to a new page with what cycle you are currently in and then have the opportunity to read that page of what truly happens during that phase. Furthermore you can look next at our cycling syncing page which is a overview slideshow of how to adjust your diet, exercise, and lifestyle, to flow with each one of your phases. Lastly we have a journaling tab in which you can brain dump how you're feeling or follow suggested prompts given by the interface to better handle your mental health and stress during these times.

How we built it

  • we used vscode and the languages we used were mainly HTML with use of CSS (for the website style) and JavaScript (for cool features like deck flipping) within it. Furthermore we used Firebase for our datebase

Challenges we ran into

  • the brainstorm part was a big challenge because we all knew we wants to do this however we really had to jot down our ideas of what each page and tab would look like, the color scheme, how out buttons and icons would be laid out, how we would do the calculation of somewhat accurately tracking each phase, and how we would create a database to store all the users information to make it personal and still private.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • we are proud that we were able to create a website to represent women who feel the need to reach out but feel to embarrassed to speak up about how they feel or even what menstrual cycles are.

What we learned

  • to make a fully functional website that might be actually used by other people takes a lot of time and effort to brainstorm and understand so it fully functional and not just something to look pretty.

What's next for RoseBloom

  • definitely go in and add more features like possibly a tab in which women can contact a physician or use other resources to their advantage. If we feel even more confident after our edits, maybe trying to publish it on our socials.
