ROPED began as an abandoned music video that we could not produce with traditional means. Rather than letting the idea disappear, we rebuilt it through generative tools, driven by the image of a woman pulled forward by a rope through raw, shifting landscapes.

We first wrote the concept without AI, then used it as a creative toolbox: generating hundreds of characters, shaping costumes, scouting environments, and producing multiple takes for each scene using MidJourney, Runway Gen-4 References, Kling, and Hailuo. This project taught us how to guide AI like a film crew, using each tool for a specific task rather than relying on automation.

Our biggest challenge was consistency: keeping the heroine’s face, hair, and outfit coherent across shots. Imperfections remained, but the narrative helped absorb them. The soundtrack, created entirely by a human composer, grounded the film emotionally.

ROPED is the result of experimentation, limitation, and learning how to make cinema with new tools while staying focused on tension, emotion, and storytelling.
