Rootstock FundHub: Decentralized Crowdfunding Platform

Inspiration:

The inspiration for Rootstock FundHub came from the need for a more transparent and secure crowdfunding solution. Traditional crowdfunding platforms often involve high fees, centralized control, and lack of transparency, which can lead to mistrust and inefficiencies. We wanted to harness the power of blockchain technology to create a platform that addresses these issues and empowers both project creators and backers.

What it does:

Rootstock FundHub is a decentralized crowdfunding platform built on the Rootstock blockchain. It allows creators to launch fundraising campaigns and receive contributions transparently and securely. The platform leverages smart contracts to automate fund releases based on predefined milestones, ensuring accountability and trust. Backers can contribute in various cryptocurrencies and track the progress of their supported projects in real-time.

How we built it:

We built Rootstock FundHub using Rootstock's blockchain technology to ensure decentralization and security. The frontend was developed with React.js to provide a user-friendly interface, while the backend was powered by Node.js and Express.js for robust server-side operations. We implemented smart contracts using Solidity to automate fund management and ensure milestone-based releases. For secure data storage and real-time updates, we used IPFS and Web3.js.

Challenges we ran into:

One of the main challenges was integrating smart contracts with the frontend to ensure seamless user interactions. Balancing decentralization with usability was another significant hurdle, as we aimed to create a platform that is both secure and easy to use.
