RootsMapper is a free, open source web site that allows you to easily visualize the migration patterns of your ancestors. It utilizes the data that already exists in your FamilySearch Family Tree to plot your ancestors onto an interactive map. Our goals for this project were to make it easy for FamilySearch users, both young and old, to see where they come from, get a feel for their heritage, and to spark an interest in family history. It is a fun way to connect with the past.
