Inspiration
We wanted to show the horror of realizing your mistake too late. That moment when trust becomes betrayal and there's no time left to undo the choice you made.
What it does
Part 3.1 shows the consequences of entering the flames. The digital wildfire doesn't shelter, it consumes. Panic spreads through the mob as the truth becomes clear. The fire engulfs everything. Then you're forcefully ejected from the kangaroo POV, the connection severed as the host is lost. You're yanked back along the Perspectwork, watching helplessly as the last remnants of the mob disappear into the flames you thought would save them.
How we built it
We structured the failure as escalating horror: hope, realization, panic, consumption, ejection. The forced disconnection from the POV adds another layer of loss, making you witness the consequences while being powerless to stop them. Cutting to black as the mob is consumed leaves viewers with the weight of that decision.
Challenges we ran into
Conveying the emotional impact of catastrophic failure in a micro format. We needed the loss to feel devastating without dwelling too long, balancing the horror of the moment with the format's brevity.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We made failure feel visceral and personal. The forced ejection from POV isn't just a game mechanic, it's the experience of losing connection to someone as they're destroyed by your choice.
What we learned
Consequence scenes work best when they don't offer escape or mitigation. Sometimes the answer is total loss, and letting that sit with viewers creates more impact than softening the blow.
What's next for Roos and the Raging Part 3.1
This ending represents one possible outcome. Part 3.2 shows what happens when you question the message and seek another path, revealing whether caution leads to survival.
