Background for the Opportunity / Problem Every college students and most of the adults will probably share apartments with others. When sharing rooms, everyone will definitely face the problem of settle money shares when buying items together such as furniture, electronic appliances, and other groceries. Since each person might pay for different items such that roommate A pays for the groceries and roommate B pays for the rent, it’ll be tedious and inefficient to pay at each time and will be difficult to calculate how much money each one should pay when it’s monthly settlement.
Collecting information from multiple sources This requires an app designed for roommates while there’s no one app like it. This app will automatically calculate the money settlement for each roommates and users can connect this app to other payment app such as paypal and venmo.
Solution that adds value This app will be a platform for roommates to create private account, connect to other roommates, post the information about their payment and pay online. It will have following basic functions: 1). Allow users post the information about the item they about and the payment 2). Allow users search the payment history. 3). Allow users pay their calculated payment in a chosen time duration. 4). Allow users post announcement to other roommates. 5). Allow users add payment information to the app
Functions 1). Allow users add items and items’ information to the bill that should be paid together. i). The information must include items’ name, price and the date it was paid. ii). It can also include pictures, tags, location, etc 2). Allow users search the payment history. i). Can search based on the name, date or tags. ii). Of course, user can also scroll through the list. 3). Allow users pay their calculated payment in certain time duration. i). Users can set the duration when the apartment group is formed ii). If one want to change the duration, he/she will send a message through the app to other members in the group and wait for their confirmation. After everyone confirmed, the duration will be updated. 4). Allow users post announcement to other roommates. i). In addition, users will automatically receive alarm messages if they didn’t pay their money within a couple of days. ii). This time duration can also be customized. 5). Allow users add payment information to the app. i). This is not required since some people might choose to pay privately. ii).
