Inspiration
I'm a recent graduate from Florida Polytechnic University I've had roommates for the past 4 years. There are a lot of aspects that can be made more efficient and simple through mobile app technology.
What it does
In its current form it allows users to login, then create a home or join a pre-existing home through a short randomly generated code.
How I built it
I used expo/react-native along with the argon-framework template for the design. I also used google cloud/firebase for authentication and the database.
Challenges I ran into
This is my first react-native app so I ran into a few issues with setup
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I built a semi-functional mobile app within a few short days.
What I learned
I learned that good/polished products take time but functional prototypes are fun and can be made in a short amount of time.
What's next for Roommate Assistant
I would like to continue working on this project and release it to the mobile app stores within 2020.
