Inspiration

We've all faced issues with roommates who don't do their part in terms of chores and tasks around the house. We have also occasionally struggled to find the motivation to do household tasks, so we decided to gamify it to make it a little bit more exciting!

What it does

A gamified web application to track and manage all of your household chores with your roommates! Earn XP by completing chores and expand your Pokemon card collection!

How we built it

Persistence -- MySQL Backend -- Go Frontend -- Vue.js

Challenges we ran into

We definitely took on a little more than what is possible to accomplish within 24 hours, so we had to dial down our idea and accept the fact that we wouldn't be able to implement everything.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of being able to complete a project using Go.

What we learned

We learned how to use Go, as well as Typescript, both of which 2/3 members of the team had not used before.

What's next for RoomieRanks

In the next update of RoomieRanks, we will be implementing a trade system for both chores and Pokemon cards, as well as a tab to manage purchases made that must be split among your roommates!
