roomie was created to help roommates navigate past the problem of common consumables in a household. as someone who lives with 7 other guys, a gallon of milk lasts maybe a day if you're lucky, and there's nothing more frustrating than opening a fridge to find out that the one thing you were looking forward to is missing. Trash bags? There's 1 left and trash day is tomorrow morning; if only you knew that on your way home, but it's 11:30 now and there's nothing you can do. But worry no more! with Roomie, your roommates can update the app to notify all the other roommates and the status of consumables. laundry detergent running low? Someone at the last of the eggs? Almost out of energy drinks? Roomie uses Firebase to keep track of item status on the cloud, and utilizes account authorization to ensure that users can keep track of their items securely. We hope to develop Roomie past hackbu, as it has great potential for a serious mobile app :)
