About the Project — RoomHaiKya

RoomHaiKya is a smart, AI-powered room rental platform built exclusively for students and aspirants. It solves one of the most common real-life problems — finding a safe, affordable, and reliable room in a new city — by providing a complete digital ecosystem for student living.

Inspiration

The idea for RoomHaiKya was born from the daily struggles students face while searching for rooms: fake listings, high brokerage, unsafe locations, poor facilities, and lack of trust. Existing platforms like 99acres and Airbnb are not student-focused and fail to solve student-specific needs.

This problem also aligns with the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) problem statement on Smarter Room Automation, confirming its national-level relevance. We wanted to build a dedicated platform only for students and aspirants, focused on trust, accessibility, and smart living — not just property renting.
