Inspiration

I am a Cameroonian by nationality and I come from a not-so-wealthy home. I usually feel good creating content about the stuff that I do on a daily, but I do not have a presentable room and home and I also do not have setups and all the materials I need for content creation. I find it hard to get shops around selling the items I see from other content creators, and ordering goods from out of the country takes some time to reach me. So, I decided to create a Partyrock application to help people like me who do not know what kind of setups they can have for themselves, and those who can only imagine but can't find the items for the dream space.

What it does

With RoomBuilder, app users are able to write out a brief description of what they want in their design. Then it re-formats this user input into a nicely-put prompt which is fed into a visualization widget to see what their prompt or their dream setup input may try to look like. The last widget lists all the items found in the space, alongside links to find these items on Amazon or any other e-commerce sites.

How I built it

I basically used PartyRock to build this application. The underlying LLM I used was Claude, for fast image generation.

Challenges I ran into

Initially, I intended on making the app generate a short video tour of the dream space, while listing the itemm=s it can identify in the video and creating a list of those items and where to find them. But it seems Claude is too slow for this task.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I'm proud to have successfully shared this app because it's my first Partyrock app. I've built so many to no avail. Also, I'm proud to have used my knowledge on my AWS Machine Learning course to understand prompts and I'm happy that I can use this for the good of the community.

What I learned

During my times of failure, I didn't realize I could fine-tune my app the way I wanted. I'm able to fully fine-tune an app instead of creating and totally deleting.

What's next for RoomBuilder?

For the next part, I would like to add widgets and functionalities to my app to scrape en e-commerce site for a product and then give me a date when the item can reach me, with all the cost. I can only move forward if the functionality to collect links from the input is fully available.
