The Inspiration The project kicked off with an exciting goal: to build a comprehensive sales dashboard for Roni's Mac Bar using monthly sales data. We aimed to transform raw data into actionable insights, helping the bar optimize its sales strategy and forecast future performance.

What We Learned We quickly realized that to make accurate predictions and build a reliable dashboard, our data needed to be flawless. We dove deep into the nuances of sales data, learning how minor inconsistencies could drastically affect predictions. This journey sharpened our data wrangling skills and taught us the importance of a clean dataset.

How We Built It We began by examining individual monthly datasets, starting with a single month to identify common patterns and issues. Cleaning involved:

Handling Missing Values: We filled gaps with appropriate estimates based on surrounding data trends. Removing Duplicates: Ensured no sales were counted twice. Standardizing Data Formats: Unified date formats, product names, and other key fields across all files. Merging Data: Combined monthly datasets into a single, cohesive dataset to get a holistic view of sales trends. With the cleaned data ready, we built a dashboard to visualize sales metrics, identify peak times, and predict future sales using time-series analysis.

Challenges Faced The biggest challenge was dealing with inconsistent formats across different months. Variations in column names and missing entries required us to build a dynamic preprocessing pipeline to standardize and merge the datasets effectively. Ensuring that our predictions were accurate despite these initial hurdles was both challenging and rewarding.

The Takeaway Building this dashboard was an incredible learning experience. We enhanced our skills in data cleaning, visualization, and predictive analytics. Most importantly, we created a tool that provides Roni's Mac Bar with valuable insights, helping to make data-driven decisions that will boost their sales strategy.
