RongaBiz is a mobile retail-management app built for small and growing businesses that need a simple way to manage multiple shops, workers, stock, sales and reports from one place.
Inspiration
Many small businesses still manage branches, worker permissions, stock and daily sales using notebooks, spreadsheets, WhatsApp messages or disconnected tools. Owners often struggle to see what is happening across different shops without being physically present.
RongaBiz was built to give business owners one clear mobile view of their operations.
What it does
RongaBiz lets business owners:
create and manage multiple shops or branches; create worker accounts and assign roles such as cashier or store clerk; control what each worker is allowed to access; add products and manage stock; record sales and operational activity; scan product barcodes or QR codes with the phone camera; monitor shop activity; access owner-focused reports and business insights through RongaBiz Pro.
The goal is to make day-to-day retail management easier for small businesses that do not need a large enterprise system.
RevenueCat integration
RongaBiz uses RevenueCat to manage its premium subscription entitlement and Google Play Billing integration.
The current premium product is RongaBiz Pro Monthly at US$7.99/month, with a one-month free trial for eligible new subscribers. RevenueCat handles the subscription state so the app can reliably determine whether an owner has access to premium features.
RongaBiz Pro is designed around features that are most valuable to owners managing growing operations, including richer reporting, live business visibility and premium management tools.
The RevenueCat purchase flow has been connected to Google Play Billing and tested through the Google Play purchase sheet.
Why the monetization fits the product
The free experience gives a business enough functionality to start using RongaBiz, while the Pro tier is aimed at owners who need deeper visibility and control as their business grows.
A recurring subscription fits the product because reporting, entitlement checks and business-management features provide ongoing value rather than a one-time unlock.
Technical implementation
RongaBiz is built with Flutter and uses Firebase services for authentication and business data. Google Play handles Android distribution and billing, while RevenueCat manages subscription entitlements and purchase state.
The app includes role-based access so different workers can be restricted to the parts of the business they actually need to use.
Challenges
Important development challenges included:
designing role-based permissions for owners and workers; keeping shop, worker, stock and sales data associated with the correct business; configuring Google Play Billing with RevenueCat; connecting the RevenueCat entitlement, offering and monthly product correctly; preparing the app for Google Play testing and production release; meeting Play Console privacy, account-deletion and production-access requirements.
Accomplishments
RongaBiz progressed from a development build through Google Play closed testing and has now been granted production access and released publicly on Google Play during the Shipaton 2026 submission window.
The RevenueCat subscription flow is integrated with the Android billing experience, giving the project a real monetization path from launch.
What's next
Next steps include improving onboarding, collecting feedback from real businesses, strengthening reports and analytics, improving owner notifications, and measuring subscription conversion and retention after launch.
The long-term goal is to make RongaBiz a practical retail-management tool for small businesses that want better visibility without the cost and complexity of a large enterprise system.
