Inspiration

I wanted to create an app that can make music playlist creation and discovery more fun, by using the power of generative widgets in the PartyRock playground. Roll Play will find the right songs for different moods and situations.

What it does

Roll Play is an app that generates music playlists based on the user’s mood. The user can input their mood, such as happy, going on a hike, workout etc., and the app will generate a playlist of 10 songs for the given mood.

How we built it

Roll Play was made using the PartyRock AWS with theses widgets:

  • Your Mood: This widget collects the user's desired playlist mood to interact with the generative widgets that create the playlist.
  • Album Cover Image Widget: uses generative art to create a cover image for the playlist.
  • Listen Now Widget: Uses internal prompts to generate and describe the a playlist of 10 spongs to match the user's mood in: Your Mood input-widget. Users can listen to the individual songs or add them to playlist by following their generated links.

Challenges we ran into

  • Ensuring that the playlist generated by the Listen Now widget is visually accessible, diverse, and appropriate for the user’s mood.
  • Editing prompts to generate content that adhere to a user friendly experience

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Creating an app that can generate personalized and customized music playlists based on the user’s mood, using generative widgets.

What we learned

  • How to use the PartyRock AWS platform and low-code widgets to create a generative AI application.
