I got inspired by a competition on Rosebud.ai socials for making a racing game, but it's not my world, so I got this idea: what if I'm doing a ROGUELIKE racing game in turn by turn?

That's how it's started, and actually it did very well. Unfortunately, after finishing the main game, I came up with the idea of making an endless mode: new power-ups, new vehicles with special stats, achievements, and a tournament mode. I introduced a couple of new items/power-ups, but some were too complex for the AI, and it quickly hit up the AI limits: vehicles are now uniquely cosmetic, and the tournaments and achievements are still to come. For the actual state of the AI capabilities, the project code is now too big and complex, and any trial to add a feature is a bug pit.

Overall, I worked extensively on balancing and fine-tuning the core concept to create the most polished, balanced, and bug-free experience possible and finished what is the core of the game. I'm proud of showcasing a unique concept that I enjoyed so much to create with dozens of hours of vibe coding.

With that project, I learned to create a concept and plan in order to have a full experience, and I do feel it's not only a mini-game, but my "first" game that I could share with my friends, and I was delighted to see them having fun on it. It was really my biggest accomplishment through it.

What's coming next? One day, there will be new vehicles, achievements, tournaments! And who knows, with some reworking or more traditional devving ways, it could hit on mobile :)
