Have you ever been bored with your friends and don't know what to do? Or maybe there was an event that you found out about after it happened, and you had no clue that it existed. Well, worry no more!

What it does

Our website targets college students and pulls events from local calendars in Huntsville, Alabama. Essentially, our website is a calendar of calendars.

How we built it

We started off by collecting a comprehensive list of calendars of events in the Huntsville area. Then, we scraped those local calendars and aggregated them into a compatible ingest list for our system. Finally, our design team created a cascading layout that displays the events and lets you tap into Huntsville's various happenings.

Challenges we ran into

Most problems we ran into involved the event data being formatted differently on the numerous calendars. We overcame them by creating specific logic to synthesize the data into a universal format.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud the teamwork implemented and the skill building that was necessary in order to accomplish this task. We are also proud of the sleek layout of the website.

What we learned

We learned how to use version control (Git) in order to collaborate on a multi-faceted project. By divvying up the tasks, we discovered our dormant strengths in the various technologies involved.

What's next for

We want to edit the formatting of the website by detecting and eliminating duplicate events. We also want to reach out to Huntsville citizens and put the website into daily use.
