This project gives the user the ability to simulate customizable rockets with different conditions and gives the user a grade based on the performance of their rocket.
What it does: Teaches kids about space in a simple yet fun manner.
How we built it: First, we created the models for the rockets and the UI used in the game, then we began incorporating code into it. We used AI for more of the complex elements which allowed us to include many more features, which are cited in the code. Then, as we got a solid base, we started tweaking more code to finalize the product.
Challenges we ran into: The code was extremely long and tedious to do, and incorporating different planets was extremely challenging, as neither of us had lots of experience with Physics engines.
Accomplishments that we're proud of: The ability to swap between planets that have different gravity and air resistance.
What we learned: How to create a physics engine effectively
What's next for Rocket Academy Simulator: We hope to expand our game and streamline building.
