Inspiration

We built this project because we had a passion for space exploration and a desire to make it more accessible to the general public which seems to be possible in the coming future. Sending rockets to the moon and being part of the space community might be the new flex!

What it does

RockaBuy is a cutting-edge platform that allows customers to send customized rockets to various regions on the Moon. Whether for scientific research, tourism, or other purposes, RockaBuy makes it easy for anyone to design and launch their own unique rocket using its advanced technology and reliable services.

How we built it

Built using the MERN stack, RockaBuy utilizes the power of JavaScript-based technologies to provide a seamless and efficient platform for launching rockets. With MongoDB as the database, Express as the backend framework, React + Vite as the frontend library, and Node.js as the runtime environment, RockaBuy offers a full-stack solution for sending customized rockets to the Moon.

Challenges we ran into

RockaBuy has some complex UI designs which make it difficult to implement in the frontend part. It has some animations, beautiful colors, and is simple to use. Putting in together the orbits and rockets was the challenge we faced.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of the beautiful design and building of the frontend part working continuously for 36 hours as a team of complete strangers!

What we learned

We learned how to use animations in both Figma and React, how react-router-dom works, authentication using JWT and most importantly improving our CSS skills.
