Inspiration

We wanted to make a game for Ludum Dare 32, whose theme was "Unconventional Weapon." We decided to design a twist from Rock, Paper, Scissors, where one battles against their friend in a battle of the ages.

How it works

We made our game in LibGDX, where users will first choose their initial weapon of choice (Rocks, Papers, or Scissors). If the weapon of one user beats the user, i.e., rocks beats scissors, then their bullets will penetrate the other person's bullets. The players move around a 2D arena and shoot their weapons as well as picking up other weapons to change their bullet type. At the end, the score screen shows the global wins for player 1 and for player 2. Our program can use a game controller or the keyboard for the players to use.

Challenges I ran into

Azure was a little difficult to implement because we implemented it within the last hour of the hackathon. We have the our game now showing global wins and losses now!

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Our project was able to finish somewhat early and through teamwork, we were able to produce a full and complete product. We have hand drawn graphics to accompany our game!

What I learned

I learned how to use Azure as well as work in a team in a high stress environment.

What's next for Rock, Paper, Scissors, Shoot!

We are going to submit it to Ludum Dare and it will be a nice showcase game to show to our friends.
