Inspiration
With the advent of embodied AI, or general robotics, I was inspired to begin my own project: (1) building my own robotic arm from scratch (original CAD design), (2) training a model using PyTorch, as well as utilizing reinforcement learning
What it does
The goal is for this robotic arm to autonomously sort items, for example, nuts and bolts, chess pieces, and so on.
How I built it
More details will be documented later, but my general procedure is as follows: (1) Determine the hardware (servos/actuators, sensors, microcontrollers/processors, etc.), (2) use Fusion 360 to design a modular model with precise geometry and DFMA principles in mind, (3) assemble and integrate the software with hardware, (4) test!
While not crucial, I will also incorporate ROS 2 and MoveIt 2 into my workflow.
Stay tuned!
