Bill and Melinda Gates Letter they released recently mentioned robots not paying taxes so we tried to find a solution to it.
What it does
An analysis tool that looks at the relationship between Robot production vs a worker production and then models it accordingly.
How we built it
With code and sheer force of will.
Challenges we ran into
None of us are economics or statistics majors which forced us out of our comfort zone and made us approach problems in different ways. None of us have any real experience with flask.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We solved all of the world's problems in one go, very pretty UI. Also we are proud of the fact that we were able to devise an algorithm that was able to accurately model a fairly complex issue.
What we learned
Flask skill, taxes, economic policy and its relation to political lobbying efforts through things such as the commerce clause. Got exposure to department of labor databases and had an opportunity to work with multifaceted data sets. Most importantly we learned how to break an extremely complex problem down to its essential components
What's next for RoboTax
*Make Modules that expand the capabilites of the backend *Pinpoint Tax Rates based off of location and determine a cost analysis based off of the same amount of data
