Inspiration
The inspiration for our project stemmed from the increasing need for automation in everyday tasks. We wanted to create a robotic solution that simplifies a common problem while integrating innovative technologies. Our team was particularly motivated by advancements in robotics and AI, and we aimed to build something that not only functions efficiently but also demonstrates real-world applicability.
How we built it
We developed our robot using:
- Arduino
- A photosensor
- A sonar sensor
- Arduino IDE for coding
The development process included prototyping the mechanical design, implementing the software logic, and continuous testing and iteration to refine performance.
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges we faced was calibrating the sensors to function accurately in different lighting and environmental conditions. Additionally, integrating multiple hardware components posed a challenge in ensuring seamless communication between different modules.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Overcoming latency issues in sensor data processing was a major milestone for our team. Additionally, seeing our robot function as intended and interact with its environment was a rewarding experience.
What we learned
Throughout this hackathon, we gained valuable experience in:
- Hardware integration
- Real-time processing
We also learned the importance of teamwork and time management when working on a tight deadline. This experience has given us insights into the iterative development process required for building functional robotics projects.
What's next for Robot
Moving forward, we plan to improve navigation accuracy and processing speed. Ultimately, we hope to refine our prototype and potentially develop it into a viable product.
