Inspiration
I kept burning my food! All that sourcing, prep, seasoning...all for nothing!! I built this to make my life easier. I was tired of checking the oven constantly. There are too many distractions these days. I hope that this can help some Educators who are working at home and love to cook, but want to focus as much time as possible on teaching. They take care of so many people. Let's see if Robo-Chef can take care of their meal!
What it does
Robo-Check takes control of an android phone and interacts with it in the same way that a user would.
Robo-Chef: -Unlocks the Phone -Opens the Webber iGrill App -Reads the temperature of your thermometer -Closes the thermometer app when it reaches the right temperature -Opens the Switch-Bot App -Instructs the Switch-Bot to click something IRL (My Oven!!)
How we built it
I used a $50 thermometer, $60 android phone, and a $30 Switch-Bot then used UiPath w/ Computer Vision and VNC to act as a Bot on my phone.
This was built using UiPath. Because I was using VNC to connect to the android phone- I could only see the screen and send click/type commands. Computer Vision FTW on this one. To get my meal started- I built a light WebApp using UiPath Apps. Now I can open Robo-Chef on my iPhone and when I push "Start Cook" Robo-Chef will turn on my Android phone and start controlling it.
Challenges we ran into
Sometimes phones behave in unexpected ways. I had to add some error handling to keep things going smoothly.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Because UiPath is Low-Code: I didn't need to write a single line of code to make this! I'll never burn my food again. I can focus on other fun things (Like learning how to do new things) and not be distracted as much as I used to be.

What's next for Robo-Chef: Turn your Oven into a Smart Oven
I'm going to slow cook a feast but I'm not going to set a timer :)
