The technology already exists to block RoboCalls efficiently however it is not centralized in the spot where is should exist which is with the Telecommunications Carriers such as Verizon and others. Right now there are a few marketed products that hook up to home phones which zap Robocalls. One requries a live person to press #1 on the dial to be connected to your phone and others screen out 800,877, 900 numbers and block them from coming through. There are some for sale now that are combinations of both however it would be expensive for all to buy one for each phone and hard to roll out even though they are easy to use once set up properly. My proposal is to use this existing technology at the carrier level. Currently they have the ability to block an individual number from calling you and that can be expanded at your request to not have any 800,900 etc exchanges from calling you. The Carriers can also have the feature made available that requires all callers to press #1 to be connected to your number once they call you , in order to screen and preven the Robocalls. Unless this is done at the carrier level no large scale program will work since it would be too expensive and troublesome to have all consumers buy an aftermarked product and do individual hookups. They do work and are very effective as reported by reviews of all of them. Telecommunications Carriers have this ability and a simple way can be devised to have consumers request that the Press #1 feature and the 800,900 Number and Out of Area callers be blocked from getting through. Very simple to have the Carriers do it, meaning it can be rolled out quickly at minimum expense to consumers and very easy to use and request the feature from the Carrier.
