Inspiration

It started when I read terrifying statistics:

  • Globally, over 280 million people suffer from depression.
  • Women are 1.5 times more likely to be affected.
  • In Asia, nearly a quarter of young people show signs of depression — pushed by social norms and high expectations.
    Many struggle in silence...

What it does

The film was created to support those who struggle, feel lonely or just sad for any reason. Hopefully, it will inspire people to Dream and make their Dreams come true.

I agree, it might sound naïve, but I firmly believe that almost everything is possible: if you put in enough effort, enjoy the process, and surround yourself with like-minded people.

How I built it

It took me lots of time and effort: both developing the idea, which deeply resonated with me, and finding the right tools to bring it to life.

  • Visuals: #Midjourney, Enhancor (AI Skin Texture Enhancement Tool)
  • Video: #GoogleVeo (3 & 3.1), #SeedDance 1.0 (used for one scene), #Kling 2.5 (via #OpenArt and #Sonovid)
  • Music: #Suno
  • Voice: #ElevenLabs
  • Video editing: #CapCut

Challenges I ran into

The biggest challenge was creating the childhood scene — Veo didn’t let me use any of my visuals. I kept getting a message saying it violated the policy. But when I used text-to-video with the same prompt, it worked - just not as I wanted. I considered it a compliment — probably my visuals looked too realistic.
And I deeply respect that they are so careful when it comes to videos with kids.
But had to use alternative tools for those scenes:)

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Just keep working and exploring. I am excited about what's possible.

What I learned

I got lots of inspiration.
I also learned that deep projects like this require time — and I was lucky to have it.
Time to think through the idea, take breaks, and come back later with new insights.

What's next for ROAR

I hope people will like it:) It will all be worth it if at least one person watches and smiles — especially in hard times.
Participating in the Chroma Awards sets a high bar for quality. I would be honoured if my work might be noticed.
