Inspiration

We noticed that most modern travelers discover destinations visually through Instagram and social media, but the process of turning scattered inspiration into a usable trip plan is messy and frustrating. Copying names, researching routes, and manually creating an itinerary often takes longer than the trip itself. We wanted to design a frictionless way to transform that inspiration directly into an optimized travel plan—so travelers can spend less time planning and more time exploring.

What it does

Users paste in all their aiming location at once, confirm a consolidated list of locations, and then personalize their trip with preferences like dates, pace, and interests. The AI generates a fully organized schedule, complete with routes, travel times, and recommendations—making the jump from inspiration to execution instant.

Challenges we ran into

Extracting consistent and reliable location data from Instagram posts proved tricky due to variability in formatting. Ensuring a smooth, non-repetitive chatbot experience required rethinking typical conversational flows.

What we learned

Created a scalable, serverless architecture that can be expanded with richer features in the future. Showed how KIRO can move beyond basic Q&A chatbots to deliver real-world, high-value solutions.

What's next for Roamify

Integrating attraction opening hours, ticketing, and seasonal schedules to make itineraries more accurate. Offering smart accommodation recommendations based on proximity and budget. Using generative AI to analyze post captions for richer context—like highlighting food spots, hidden gems, or sunset viewpoints.
