Roam

Inspiration

Roam grew out of a simple idea, what if the world glitches mid-hug? I wanted to make something that starts tender and human, people connecting, roaming, embracing accompanied with a soft classical music, only to rupture the moment halfway through, everything starts glitching and even the song itself changes to digital distortion.

How we built it

Music composed and produced in Udio to establish an emotional arc with a mid-point shift. Visuals generated in Midjourney and Hailuo/Minimax. Glitch logic came from regenerating the same prompts with distortion, robotic intrusions, corrupted textures, and unwanted digital artifacts and effects.

Challenges we ran into

Getting tools to produce the “right kind of wrong” glitch, robotic, broken, but still readable. Timing the glitch turn so it feels sudden but earned. Making the machine-smash moment feel like a narrative cause rather than just a stylistic switch.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Delivering something that feels both narrative and experimental despite the time limit. Winning Best music video in the event.
