Inspiration

We were inspired by the need to make trucking operations simpler and smarter. Fleet managers often work with disconnected tools for trucks, loads, drivers, routes, and maintenance. We wanted to bring everything into one modern platform with AI-powered decision support.

What it does

RoadStar AI helps trucking teams manage fleets, loads, routes, drivers, maintenance, fuel, and analytics from one dashboard. Its AI Copilot can analyze operational data and provide recommendations for load matching, route optimization, fuel savings, fleet health, and maintenance risks.

How we built it

We built RoadStar AI as a full-stack application using React, Vite, Tailwind CSS, Node.js, Express, MongoDB, and Mongoose. Google Gemini powers the AI Copilot, while REST APIs connect the frontend, backend, database, and AI services.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenges were connecting AI with real operational data, designing useful logistics recommendations, keeping the interface simple while providing many features, and creating a responsive fleet-management experience suitable for both dispatchers and fleet managers.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of creating a working trucking platform that combines fleet management with AI instead of treating AI as a separate feature. The AI Copilot, fleet health monitoring, route optimization, and predictive maintenance capabilities make RoadStar AI practical for real-world logistics workflows.

What's next for Roadster AI

Next, we want to add real-time GPS tracking, live traffic-aware routing, vehicle telemetry, driver mobile apps, ELD integration, automated dispatching, advanced predictive maintenance, real-time fuel pricing, and voice-enabled AI Copilot.
