Inspiration
Every self-directed learner has experienced "tutorial hell." When setting out to master a technical subject—whether learning a new framework or preparing for a cloud certification—the biggest challenge isn’t finding material, but organizing and pacing the execution. Static roadmaps provide broad overviews but offer no daily schedule, while endless bookmark folders lead to burnout by day four.
What it does
an AI-driven platform that converts any learning goal into a day-by-day, interactive roadmap with built-in accountability and contextual tutoring.
How I built it
Roadmapit was developed with a modern full-stack architecture focused on rapid iteration and responsiveness:
UI & Design: Rapidly prototyped and styled using Stitch to build an intuitive, distraction-free interface for daily tracking.
Architecture & Development: Engineered with Antigravity to streamline full-stack agentic coding, state management, and multi-file architecture.
Backend & Persistence: Powered by Supabase and PostgreSQL for real-time progress persistence, authentication, and public community roadmap indexing.
AI Pipeline: Uses structured prompt pipelines to parse natural language learning objectives into validated milestone schemas with integrated resources and step-by-step guidance.
Challenges I ran into
Balancing Curriculum Depth: Generating roadmaps that strike the right balance between high-level milestones and actionable daily tasks without overwhelming the learner.
Schema Reliability: Ensuring LLM outputs consistently match strict JSON formats across diverse, open-ended user queries to prevent UI rendering errors.
State & Progress Synchronization: Managing interactive milestone states so learners can seamlessly check off tasks, resume progress, and export clean PDFs.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
What I learned
Building Roadmapit highlighted that effective learning is an execution and pacing problem, not an information retrieval problem. Integrating daily milestone tracking with immediate contextual explanations dramatically improves learning momentum compared to passive reading.
What's next for Roadmapit
Spaced repetition flashcards and milestone quizzes.
GitHub integration to verify project-based milestones directly from code commits.
Public collaborative roadmaps and community curation features.
