Roadies

Roadies is a voice chat for drivers stuck in traffic.

When you open the app it puts you in a room with the closest drivers nearby, up to four people. It works like a Discord voice channel, except you never touch your phone. You just say the command out loud: "mute", "unmute", "deafen", "disconnect". Say "connect" to hop back in with whoever's closest, or "random" to drop into a room at random.

The server listens for those words with speech recognition and handles the rest. It supports English, French, Spanish and Vietnamese.

We built it with React, LiveKit for the audio, Google Speech-to-Text for the voice commands, and Node on Google Cloud Run.
