Inspiration As college students from minority backgrounds, we were inspired by recent initiatives aimed at connecting aspiring students with mentors who understand their unique challenges and experiences.

What It Does Roadie serves as a comprehensive guide for future minority college students currently in highschool, helping them navigate their educational journeys and gain a competitive edge.

How We Built It We developed Roadie using Flask, leveraging the capabilities of the GPT-3.5 Turbo and ElevenLabs APIs to create an engaging and intuitive user experience.

Challenges We Encountered One significant challenge we faced during development was ensuring effective integration of multiple APIs. Coordinating the functionality between Flask, the GPT-3.5 Turbo, and ElevenLabs required meticulous attention to detail to ensure seamless communication and data flow. Debugging issues arising from mismatched data formats and API responses was time-consuming, but it ultimately enhanced our understanding of how to create a more cohesive and responsive user experience.

Accomplishments We’re Proud Of We take pride in successfully integrating a natural conversation flow that adapts to learn about each user’s individual aspirations and obstacles.

What’s Next for Roadie Looking ahead, we plan to introduce a feature that connects users with available crowdsourced mentors, providing essential support and guidance as they pursue their academic goals.
