Inspiration

It's always good to apply what I learned theoretically to a project. For example, for any shaped wheel, I can calculate a path that will result in a smooth ride.

What it does

It follows the outline of a shape and generates a path.

How I built it

First I designed a regular-polygon version in Desmos, then I wrote a Processing code for an irregular shape. I searched for the y-coordinate where the horizontal tangent line met the bottom of the shape.

Challenges I ran into

I ran into a time-constraint. I wanted to do more, but it works for an irregular shape, like a bean.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I completed it in eight-hours from design to completed code by myself.

What I learned

The smallest things can have the biggest consequences and sometimes it's that small detail that alludes you. Sometimes it's good to talk over your design with someone else. By explaining my code, the error becomes apparent.

What's next for Road For an Irregular Wheel

Next time I'm going to design a wheel to match an irregular road.
