Inspiration

This project originated from a project in the lab of my university. My colleagues and I were studying blockchain and smart contracts in the lab, and we got to know Chainlink by chance. Then we learned about hackathons, and inspired by previous awards, decided to use Chainlink to create a simple project to get sensor data for the IOT.

What it does

It provides two modes of use: GUI(Web) and command line interface.

In the GUI, users can visit the home page to see the data sources available for the project and use them with the smart contracts we built. You can even enter the address of your own data source to build your own smart contract.

The command line is much more powerful and can do all the functions of the GUI and also check the usage of different chainlink nodes (using a mechanism we designed ourselves). :)

How we built it

We initially built this project on the Ethereum private chain, but the tps of Ethereum is not ideal due to the heavy traffic of IOT data, so we are considering migrating the project to a Chinese blockchain project, Conflux, which has higher performance.

Challenges we ran into

The main challenge was that we didn't know how to set up chainLink nodes on the private chain at the beginning. Secondly, sometimes the network of our Chainlink node is not stable, which may be due to some problems in our development environment. In the test process, we sometimes found that the smart contract was successfully invoked, but there was no display in the console of the ChainLink node.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I think the proudest accomplishment was when we successfully built an available Chainlink node on our own private chain.

Secondly, my colleagues and I succeeded in creating a usable project through continuous study and research (this is probably the biggest project I have ever done, haha).

What we learned

We learned how Chainlink works. We learned how to build a Chainlink node. In the process, we learned a little bit about how to develop a multiplayer project.

What's next for 曹二环

Next, we would like to move the project to the Conflux and further explore how to use Chainlink for the trusted transfer of IOT data.
