Inspiration

Three chill girls in a gen alpha and gen z world. We’re just divas trying to hack into the inherent venereal desires that manifest as romantic games. After all, the brainrot we consume is ironically the cause of why people lack stable romantic relationships. How unskibidi! So why not create a fun dating sim where every decision is unhinged? This is probably the most fun idea we came up with: the world's first ever brainrot dating simulator!!!

What it does

A skibidi dating game featuring Chill Guy, Edgemund, Amongus and more! Join the journey as a brainrotified newcomer to Rizz Ohio High School and interact with character’s to maximise your aura. +100 gyatt coins for every right choice you make, but you lose aura everytime you fumble.

How we built it

Our divas used Ren'Py as a visual novel making platform to assist us in channeling this brainrot energy. We took a bunch of inspo from iconic figures, audios and vernacular to maximise the loss of iq for our fellow rizzler players.

Challenges we ran into

Three teenage girls thrust straight into python for the first time. Could go very well or very wrong right? We probably lost half (or all) our brain cells writing that script, trying to find a balance between brain rot, humour and something we would be proud of. After all, if not for us,. Who else would build something so good at rizzing you up apart from us? ;) I think we went insane from trying to brain rot the whole script, whether it be late night reddit scrolls or even indulging in multiple doom scrolls along the way. After all, even if the project was not too chill to make, we can confidently say that at the end of the day, we are just three chill girls waiting for our skibidi romance story awakening.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • (Re)learning Python in like 2 days
  • Doing our very first hackathon
  • Writing a multifaceted script with a few different storylines→ enough for a beta right?

What we learned

  • The stress of a first hackathon and the amount of time management needed. But obviously, queen never cry. Lose braincells, maybe. We spent a lot of time trying to learn, to parallel park with those python basics and and deepdive into Ren'Pys platform
  • Learning, obviously, the basics of RenPy!

Stay tuned for the next updates for Rizz Ohio High! We await new paths that channel our big diva energy, and built up those gyatt coins. +100 Gyatt Coins for feeling up our first beta. Some functions we planned but didn't get to include: a gyatt coin counter, a 2nd player main screen for chapter/shop/rizz room/etc navigation, and a Day 2 route for Edgemund.
