Inspiration

The idea for Riverly was born from that universal experience: replaying a difficult workplace conversation and wondering "Did I handle that right?" When I surveyed 24 professionals about communication anxiety, 79% wanted post-conversation analysis and 71% craved real-time support. I realized millions of knowledge workers suffer not from lack of intelligence, but from never learning how to navigate workplace dynamics confidently.

What it does

Riverly is an AI-powered communication coach that transforms workplace anxiety into confidence. Users describe challenging scenarios (asking for raises, giving feedback, difficult meetings), receive personalized AI analysis on timing and approach, then practice with our ElevenLabs voice agent. It's like having a communication expert in your pocket for any workplace conversation.

How we built it

Technical Stack:

Platform: Built entirely with Bolt.new
Frontend: React + TypeScript + TailwindCSS (glassmorphic design)
AI: OpenAI API for conversation analysis
Voice: ElevenLabs for contextual conversational coaching
Backend: Supabase for data persistence
Design Flow: Figma → v0.dev → Claude Code integration

We used Bolt.new's rapid prototyping capabilities, then enhanced with Claude Code to merge beautiful UI with robust functionality.

Challenges we ran into

Multi-API Integration: Coordinating OpenAI, ElevenLabs, and Supabase while maintaining clean architecture
Deadline Pressure: 24-hour crunch time requiring strategic feature prioritization
UX for Anxiety: Designing calming, confidence-building interfaces instead of clinical tools

What we learned

Modern no-code tools like Bolt.new don't limit creativity - they accelerate it. The biggest lesson: great products start with genuine empathy. Understanding user pain points made every technical decision clear. When you solve real problems, the product builds itself.
