Inspiration
The game was inspired by Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy.
What it does
River Climbing is a physics-based climbing game where players must scale a river using precise movement and momentum.
How we built it
The project was built using the Unity game engine.
Challenges we ran into
The game was originally built for Steam rather than WebGL, so several adjustments were needed to make it work properly in the browser.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully ported the game to WebGL and preserved the core physics-based gameplay experience.
What we learned
We learned how to convert Unity projects to WebGL.
What's next for River Climbing
We plan to add new levels, release a polished Reddit web version, and possibly a level editor for people to make their own challenges.
